Tehran University, relying on over 70 years of history and experience in the fields of research and education and in line with responding to increasing demand of higher education volunteers inside and outside the country and with regard to long-term scientific, educational and research strategic plans, has established Aras International Campus. This Campus will be the manifestation of serious attendance of Tehran University in the international arenas.
Aras International Campus of Tehran University will be developed inside and outside the country according to the macro- and long-term strategic objectives and will pave the grounds for admission of national and foreign applicants for study to meet the needs of the community inside and abroad the country in training of quality experts. Therefore, Aras International Campus is a completely qualitative university consistent with the international educational and research standards which by training of efficient and effective graduates will compete in international arenas with other universities around the world.
Aras International Campus academics consist of experienced faculty members of Tehran University and other prominent universities of Iran as well as foreign visiting professors from world prestigious universities.

 

 

 

 


 

 University of Tabriz relying on over 60 years of experience in the fields of research and education and in line with responding to increasing demand of higher education volunteers inside and outside the country and with regard to long-term scientific, educational and research strategic plans, has established Aras International Campus. This Campus is in fact one of the units of University of Tabriz established in Aras (Julfa) Free Trade-Industrial Zone, which also has many tourist and business attractions to develop educational and research activities of university at national and international levels in this region and from the outset of establishment in October 2010 by accepting students in masters degree of four disciplines: 1- Private Law 2- Urban Geography and Planning 3- English Language Teaching and 4- Food Industries has started its activity and in October 2011 by increasing the number of disciplines to 9 majors (in addition to the four mentioned above fields in five fields of: 1- Executive Management (EMBA) 2- Computer Science 3- Civil-Structures Engineering 4- Electrical Power Engineering and 5- Agricultural Biotechnology) has upgraded its scientific activities.
This Campus in terms of overall educational policies is subordinated to the rules and regulations of the University of Tabriz and its activities are set for postgraduate degrees (Masters and PhD).
The objectives of Aras International Campus include the followings:

  • To create regional scientific focal points to help promote the level of culture and knowledge of the society
  • To create and develop needed national and regional majors
  • To train specialist human resources at international level
  • To provide appropriate grounds for utilization of the existing facilities and capabilities of the region for the promotion of higher education
  • To extend academic support to economic, social, cultural and regional centers
  • To attract and steer those interested in studying abroad to Aras International Campus

 

International Branch of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences has launched its activities in 2010 with 18 degree fields including 3 general physician fields (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy) and 12 master's degree (Nursery, Midwifery, Sitology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Parasitology, Physiology, Medical Physics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Anatomy Genetics) and 3 PhD degrees (Nursery, Sitology, Pharmacology)

Considering that the development of country's free zones is defined based on reason and knowledge and on the other hand, this area is located adjacent to CIS countries and these newly independent countries have long experienced close higher education system without relationship with the free world, the establishment of capable and strong scientific centers in Aras Free Zone in the neighborhood with such countries is one of the main strategies of Aras Free Zone Organization.
Along with this strategic vision, the Islamic Azad University has expanded the roots of knowledge and reason throughout the country as the largest non-state university in the Middle East and as the best generalizable model in developing countries was determined to establish a strong and capable scientific base in Aras Free Zone. In this regard, along with the official formation of Aras Free Zone on February 2006, the Islamic Azad University of Julfa was also established and admitted 54 students in two associate degree disciplines and commenced its official activities.
What has retained to date the motivation of managers and experts of this small center at the highest level is the location of this university in Aras Free Zone and its trans-regional vision so that through belief and faith in the immense capabilities of Islamic Azad University can achieve a perfect example of this collection in the showcased city of Aras Free Zone in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Islamic Azad University of Julfa by a vision to long futures and huge evolving grounds in Aras Free Zone is emerged and by observing the transformations in the higher education system taking place in adjacent countries and believing that this university complex in line with the macro-policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran acts as a filter to prevent brain drains which annually take out billions of Rials of exchange from the country and at the same time acts to admit foreign students.
The fields which are approved and submitted to the Ministry of Science are as follows:

In 2004, Payam-e-Noor University started its activities in Julfa with one field of study in bachelor’s degree of Business Administration for 45 students and since then has developed quantitatively in such a way that now admits through entrance examination 12 fields of study out of which 5 are new majors (Computer Engineering, Political Sciences, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Tourism Management, Law, Economics, Theology with specialization in Islamic Nations History, Persian Language and Literature, Accounting, Social Sciences with specialization in Research, and Social Sciences with specialization in Cooperation & Welfare), and 7 fields of study as comprehensive discipline (Accounting, Business Administration, Theology with specialization in Islamic Nations History, Persian Language and Literature, Economics, Social Sciences with specialization in Research, and Social Sciences with specialization in Cooperation & Welfare) and at the present time 1,200 graduate students are studying in this center.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Agricultural Strategy
Development of agricultural activities in the fields of aquaculture, agriculture and livestock conversion industries, production of semitropical, nucleated and irrigated-grown fruits especially on lands that legally are only suitable for agricultural activities using the safe and abundant water resources of the region and the opportunity to access proper markets.

Transit and Re-export Strategy
Development of transit activities and converting the region into an import, export and re-export mega-port due to suitable connecting roads in the post-bank area as well as excellent geo-economic position and the presence of Julfa Customs as an entry and exit hub at national scale.

Higher Education Strategy
Promotion of higher education in the region due to the possibility of attracting a large number of Iranian students abroad and enjoying the facilities of academic hubs of the province and neighboring cities,

Industrial and Mining Strategy
Development of mining activities, energy-related industries and other privileged industries as well as establishment of industrial clusters in the region relying on proximity to Tabriz as one of the major industrial hubs of the country and using the advantage of access to abundant energy and human resources as well as suitable markets opportunities in addition to the development of construction industry considering the growing needs of the region to provide infrastructural measures, especially with regard to the position of Julfa in national, regional and provincial outreach projects.

Services Strategy
Development of sub-specialized medical centers in order to meet the trans-national demands and improvement of service facilities with regard to the role of various applications and paving the grounds for the establishment of service centers in the Free Zone.

ICT Strategy
Establishment and expansion of ICT in the region due to the relative advantage of Aras Free Zone in access to national telecommunication infrastructures and being located en route of the East-West fiber optic networks, from China to Europe.

Financing Strategy
Financing the region through supporting and establishment of national and international financial and monetary institutions as well as attraction of Rials and foreign exchange investments, especially the assets of Iranians abroad based on the general policies of Act 44 of the Constitution and legal privileges of free zones for investment in the region.

Environmental Strategy
Elimination of environmental legal limits of Aras Free Zone through amending the rules and regulations or resorting to creative initiatives for activity in regions subjected to specific environmental regulations

Investment Strategy
Enhancement of region’s competitiveness vis-à-vis competing free zones to attract investment, given the high potential of the region, especially through the assets of Iranians abroad in coordination with the executive agencies in the region and improvement of specific legal facilities of free zones and covering the investment risks with the establishment of related financial and warranty institutions.

Tourism Strategy
Development of tourism, particularly in religious areas relying on the presence of Saint Stephenson Church in the region and the possibility to create easy access to Qara Klisa Church, and “Ecotourism” given the pristine nature of Julfa using the Aras River, and “Historical Tourism” with regard to historical castles of the region particularly Qal’e Babak located at the vicinity of the region, and “Business Tourism” with the presence of border markets, and “Therapeutic Tourism” due to the potentials of the region in this regard and its hydrotherapy advantages.
