Using Aras Free Zone’s Legal Capacity in Science and Technology Parks for Economic Development of Province Effective, East Azerbaijan Governor-general Says


In a meeting attended by the Governor of East Azerbaijan, Abedin Khoram and officials of the province's technology and innovation, the CEO of the Aras Research and Technology Fund, the governor said: Reforming the budget structure with the aim of economic growth is one of the concerns of the 13th government and it requires boosting investment and employment.

The governor of East Azerbaijan considered the launch of the innovation and technology ecosystem as one of the medium-term goals in the development of the province and said: "Science and technology parks and growth centers should play a key role in this direction."

Noting that the laws of free zones are also applied in science and technology parks, he said: "Using these legal capacities is one of the priorities and can be effective in realizing the province's innovation ecosystem as one of the medium-term goals of economic development."

At present, 20 business incubators affiliated with Science and Technology Park in different parts of the province are operating and 198 startup companies have been set up, out of which 165 companies with 3900 employees are located in science and technology parks and incubation centers.
