The evaluator of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network said at the meeting of the Aras Geopark Strategic Council: "The seriousness and actions of the Aras Free Zone in its path of global registration of the Aras Geopark deserve admiration. Good work has been done in the Aras Free Zone and you are on the right track."

Stating that the study of geoparks is not just about geology, Professor Trantan Van, said: "Understanding geology and how a geopark is formed alone is not enough to establish and enter the global network of geoparks, but the region's ability to develop local livelihoods, knowing the customs and reviving local communities and using the capacity of the local community are important factors to achieve this privilege”.

He reminded that the Supreme Council of UNESCO Global Geoparks is not against any kind of economic and industrial activity, but supports all activities and even mining activities in the framework of nature conservation and geological landscapes.

It is worth mentioning that in this meeting, Majid Kiani, Chairman and CEO of Aras Free Zone Organization with Professor Trantan Van, Assessor of UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and Alireza Amri Kazemi, Consultant of Aras Geoparks and International Assessor of UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and Vice Chairman of National Science Committee, a group of UNESCO board members, deputies and directors of the Aras Free Zone Organization were also attending.
