Majid Kiani in the first meeting of the Council of Deputies and Managers of the organization said: in updating the comprehensive plan, it is necessary to consider the development of the international transit and logistics sector as one of the main strategies for balanced development of Aras. Because this promotes the strategic security of the country through absorbing, depot and transiting of agricultural products, food and industrial products, and Aras Free Zone can be a logistics hub due to its inherent capacities, historical records and regional and international developments in the northwestern border of Iran.

Stressing the pivotal program in determining executive policies, Kiani added: "Aras Free Zone has distanced itself from some of the main strategies of its master development plan, and today Aras master plan and development strategies should be updated based on balanced development logic and internal and external environmental conditions."
