Iran introduced its investment opportunities to representatives of 500 Chinese companies at its embassy in Beijing.
During the meeting, Iranian officials called for expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Sadeq Nafezi, the representative of Iran’s Aras Free Zone (AFZ), said, “Since the beginning of AFZ’s economic and trade activities, it has always cooperated with Chinese companies.”
Nafezi said AFZ has prepared the ground for expanding production, industrial and trade activities by establishing infrastructures in the zone.
“AFZ is located northwest of the country and has easier access to the markets of European countries,” he said.
“Since AFZ is located along some of the world’s main transit corridors, it has made significant advances in attracting foreign investments.”
The official called for bolstering cooperation with Chinese investors and said China’s major economic policy is to encourage its top companies to invest in foreign development projects.
“At present, Chinese investors are participating in AFZ’s production and export activities,” he said, hoping that mutual cooperation will expand.
Nafezi invited Chinese companies to participate in the Third International Conference on Investment Opportunities in East Azarbaijan Province, which will be held in Tabriz during June 25-26.
